The Power Of Six

I Have The What, Now The How

Now that I know what I'm going to build, it's time for me to figure how to get there. Without that, how will I know I've reached my goals? First, I'll start with my financial goals (after all that one of the main reasons I'm doing this). I have decided to use a strategy that I call 'The Power of Six'.

I got the idea from reading a new found friend's blog (by the way, you really should check it out) detailing how she plans to go from zero to $1,000,000 in 28 steps. I thought that was a great idea, but a little to detailed for me, so I got to thinking... What if I did it in by adding zeros?

The Steps

So here's my plan. I remember basic math.

  1. 10 ^0 = 1
  2. 10^1 = 10
  3. 10^2 = 100
  4. 10^3 = 1,000
  5. 10^4 = 10,000
  6. 10^5 = 100,000
  7. 10^6 = 1,000,000

So instead of 28 steps, I can achieve it in seven. When all is said, it's really just scaling things up. When we let these results represent dollars, the direction is there. After you make your first dollar then the goal is to make your first $10. After $10, then your first $100.

Want A Challenge?

How about this as an additional challenge: After your first $1 day, set a goal to have a $10 day, then $100 and so on.

Once you get your earnings to the 'power of six', getting to seven and beyond should be easier, right?

Awesome job on setting a plan and detailing your steps Reg! Breaking a large overall goal down into smaller steps, and concentrating on ONLY those steps, makes any large goal so much less overwhelming. Your “Power of SIx” should do that quite nicely for you 🙂 Love the name too!
